Hello

THE CUB SCOUT PROGRAM

We're all about encouraging boys and girls to make friends, be helpful to others, and do their very best no matter the outcome. With the help of powerful learning projects and exciting outdoor activities, we aim to teach children that doing their best can be a fun and rewarding experience, no matter the difficulty of the challenge!

CAMPING & OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

Experiencing the outdoors and building foundational outdoor skills is one of the most enjoyable aspects of Scouting. Ask any former scout and they'll undoubtedly tell you stories of the fun times they had camping with their pack or troop. Cub Scouts provides numerous opportunities throughout the year to build these memories including:

  • Fall Mock Campout

    • This is designed to help first-time campers get used to their gear and feel more comfortable in the outdoors while close to home

  • Fall and Spring Pack Campouts

  • Cub Scout Adventure Camps

  • Cub Scout Summer Day Camp

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Doing service projects together is one way Cub Scouts keep their promise "to help other people." While a Scout should do his or her best to help other people every day, group service projects provide a way to have a larger impact on our local community. Service is a fundamental aspect of Scouting which:

  • Helps Scouts better understand the needs of their community

  • Establish a "we" instead of "me" mindset

  • Help local charitable organizations

  • Keep our communities clean

  • Solve conservation problems

PINEWOOD DERBY

The Pinewood Derby is an event every Cub Scout looks forward to each year. Scouts design, build, and race unmanned, gravity-powered wooden cars down a sloped track in a series of heats to compete for the title of Fastest Car in the Pack along with a variety of other fun awards! Want to do something crazy? We even have an outlaw category for folks who want to take a drive on the wild side!

  • The pack provides Pinewood Derby Car kits for each scout

  • Derby Car Build Days help simplify the build process through tool and material access

  • Awards range from the fastest car to the best paint job. Speed isn't the only consideration. You gotta look good doing it too!

BIKE RODEO

The Bike Rodeo is our annual bike safety and skills event designed to teach Scouts how to maintain and ride their bikes safely. No matter what skill level you're at, we'll help make sure you know how to enjoy cycling safely

  • Learn about Texas bike laws from the Prosper Police Department

  • Learn how to do a bike safety check

  • Learn how to replace tubes, clean and lubricate your chain, and other common maintenance skills

  • Practice what you learned and improve your riding skills on our obstacle course

  • Earn your rank's cycling adventure!

BLUE & GOLD BANQUET

Scouting was founded on February 8, 1910 and the Blue & Gold Banquet is our annual celebration of Scouting's birthday. The event is typically held in February and includes food, games, and awards while bringing families together.

  • Blue stands for truth and spirituality, steadfast loyalty, and the sky above

  • Gold stands for the warm sunlight, good cheer, and happiness

  • We often choose themes to keep things new and exciting
