FEES & COSTS
The cost of Scouting is relatively low and a full year is roughly the equivalent of one season of youth sports. We try to be as transparent as possible about these costs and what they cover so we've provided a general breakdown along with our annual budget.
COUNCIL FEE - $85
This fee is paid directly through My Scouting when you initially register or renew each year. It covers the cost of developing the overall program, managing facilities and camps, and paying council staff.
PACK DUES - $150
This fee is paid directly to Pack 289 and covers the Pack's cost of administering the Scouting program. Payment is made using the Venmo link or QR code at the bottom of this page and must be completed before the September Pack Meeting.
FUNDRAISING
Cub Scouts can offset the cost of the program by raising money for the pack through our annual popcorn sales. Commissions from selling popcorn (and direct donations) can be used to cover your Registration Fee, Pack Dues, and even High Adventure or special activity costs.

We publish our latest budget to provide transparency into the costs associated with Pack 289's operation and help clarify the specific costs your Pack Dues cover.
PAYMENTS
Pack 289 currently accepts payments through Venmo which allows us to receive payments without adding additional fees. Scan the QR code with your phone camera or click the link to make a payment to the Pack. Please be sure to specify your Scout's full name and what the payment is for in the description so we can match the payment with your Scout's account.
